Since Today we are officially supporting a LINUX release of OpenGameOnline. Salvatore Iovene ported the code yesterday and after the afternoon's tests we can announce the introduction of this important new feature in the project. Later on we will support also OSX, but at the moment we prefer to concentrate our efforts on Linux and Windows. Stay tuned for new screenshots in the next days. |

Finally I was able to get at the end of this maintenance part of the work. As you might have read in the news, major changes have been introduced to make the client more efficient and easy to extend. The main part of this work has also been finalised to make the ingame part easier to develope. Now I' m taking care of refining Gui's management, that should keep me busy for the next few days. After this minor work I will start the last two parts planned to complete first editor's release such as water system and weather system. Stay tuned!! |

After some days spent discussing and deciding the first steps domain, Salvatore Iovene has started today to write the OpenGameOnline Networking System. He will cover both the client and server side for which he has choses to work on GNU/Linux OS. The October release is taking me longer than thought, and a lot of major changes have occoured in the code. I introduced an Octree system (shown in the screenshots section) to better manage objects in the scene and other minor things. I hope I will be able to cover the last part of this work during next weekend (if my health will allow me...) |
